What does that mean?
SODC is a legally incorporated organization that acts as a vehicle to access capital from local citizens. Rather than that money invested in businesses in some other part of the world, it can be invested in needed local businesses. It can be used to support local entrepreneurs, create jobs, retain and attract youth, and in general, increase the quality of life in the community.
A powerful component is the social capital. Members are intelligent and highly experienced business people. They can share their expertise with younger entrepreneurs to accelerate their growth and success.
When local citizens are invested in a business, they are more likely to support it and promote it.
